The drug Tamerit is a unique molecule produced by a highly pure (patented) method - 5-amino-2,3-dihydrophthalazine-1,4-dione sodium salt, has a chemical nature and is available in ampoules in a dosage of 100 mg. For dilution for intramuscular administration, water for injection is used. The point of application of the drug is the monocyte-macrophage row of cells. The applicability and effectiveness of the drug is determined by the complexity of its pharmacological properties, including combined anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory and antioxidant effects.
The method of treating inflammatory diseases is based on targeted, reversible inhibition of the function of monocytes/macrophages in the damaged area, which transfers the process into a physiological direction. An important point is the fact that, despite the variety of etiological factors of inflammatory diseases, activation of monocytes/macrophages is one of the most universal links in pathogenesis. An acute inflammatory reaction is always accompanied by hyperactivation of macrophages, which initiate the inflammatory reaction on the one hand, and on the other hand, transmit “perverted” information to T- and B-lymphocytes. Therefore, by regulating the function of macrophages, it is possible to pathogenetically influence the activity of the inflammatory response of the body at any localization.
Tamerit is perhaps the only drug that combines three types of pharmacological activity: immunocorrective, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant actions, while other drugs have predominantly one type of action. In addition, important qualities of the drug are rapid elimination from the body and extremely low toxicity, which allows it to be used in children.
