VIP cream contains as an active ingredient a vasoactive intestinal peptide, which has three main properties:
enhancement of the serotonin receptor response (primary action): as a result, it improves mood and increases sensory perception (e.g. sounds are heard more clearly, food tastes better);
fibrinolytic effect and a number of effects on various organs;
neuroprotective effect: VIP is part of a pair of peptides (VIP/PACAP), which are being studied in depth for their role in the central nervous system (in addition to serotonin).
Serotonin is closely associated with a good mood. However, the action on its receptors leads to a significant pharmacological effect on the central nervous system: from headache drugs and antidepressants to appetite suppressants and hallucinogens. Instead of such intervention, a more gentle indirect effect is possible.
One of the basic principles of biochemistry is amplification, when even the weakest signal can produce a strong molecular "echo" with a clear physiological effect. Serotonin receptors are G-protein coupled receptors. Thus, we can affect Gq proteins, amplifying native serotonin signals.
VIP in the serotonin part of the effects
improves mood, it becomes good and wonderful, without the dopamine "demand" to do something and go (if necessary, you can add more motivation and desire by combining VIP with FM55#1, Digexa creams, ADHD);
along with the mood, tastes, sounds, proprioception (body sensation in space) will change, here it will take time to adapt to new sensations: VIP modulates the tastes of sweet, bitter and sour (to understand which will be better, you need to try), you will also need to get used to the changes in the perception of sounds and proprioception (synergy with AM-111);
a number of central and peripheral effects are possible that are not directly related to serotonin.
The fibrinolytic effect of VIP and the effect on different organs
The VIP peptide has fibrinolytic activity: it affects the release of plasminogen activators into the blood. The main organ for plasminogen synthesis is the liver (possible site of application depending on the desired effects).
In addition, the VIP peptide has many other points of application:
in adipose tissue - stimulates thermogenesis and drilling (increase in the number of mitochondria in fat);
for the lungs - can act as a bronchodilator, dilate pulmonary blood vessels, have an anti-inflammatory effect on the respiratory tract (synergy with FM12#1, CPV creams and Copper Tripeptide);
for the pancreas - will improve the secretion of insulin, glucagon and pancreatic enzymes;
for the thyroid gland - will improve the secretion and sensitivity to TSH, have a potentially positive effect on thyroid function;
for the immune system - suitable for protecting the thymus from age-related changes and harmful effects, has a number of anti-inflammatory effects;
for joints - is potentially considered as a cure for osteoarthritis.
However, there are some limitations in the use of VIP for various factors of "instability" of the intestine (toxins, inflammatory diseases). The fact is that the main physiological function of the peptide is to increase blood flow in the intestinal wall, and in the presence of such "instability" factors, it can stimulate their systemic penetration (increase intestinal permeability). Therefore, it is not recommended to apply this cream in the intestinal projection.
VIP, PACAP and the brain
VIP and PACAP (pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide) are two peptides that are similar in their effect on the central nervous system. At the same time, VIP is smaller in size (27 amino acids) and works more gently, while PACAP is larger in size (38 amino acids) and has harsher effects.
Both peptides are good at improving synaptic plasticity, memory, mood, reducing anxiety and stress. PACAP and VIP function as the main regulators of the stress response, maintaining homeostasis in the central and peripheral nervous system. Promotes neuronal development, neuromodulation and neuroprotection:
maintain ion homeostasis in the central nervous system;
have a cytoprotective effect on neurons;
reduce edema in the central nervous system;
reduce excitotoxicity;
maintain the integrity of the BBB;
have an anti-inflammatory effect.
Thus, VIP can be considered one of the safest, most important and interesting ways to influence the serotonin system, and along with it, mood, stress, and to some extent, perception and cognitive functions. Its effects will also be useful outside the central nervous system.
The liposomal form of VIP cream ensures high bioavailability of the peptide, ease of use and ease of dosing.
