Methylthioninium chloride (methylene blue) is an organic substance in the form of a dark blue or dark green crystalline powder with a metallic sheen. An aqueous solution of the compound has a deep blue color.
The substance is an antiseptic, antidote, disinfectant, and detoxifier. It participates in oxidation-reduction reactions and promotes energy. It is used for infectious and inflammatory diseases, including wounds and burns, pustular lesions of the skin, and hair follicles.
The cocoa butter included in the suppositories ensures increased absorption of the active ingredient and has analgesic and softening effects.
