Alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (a-MSH) is also classified as a melanotropin. a-MSH is an endogenous peptide hormone composed of 13 amino acids, believed to play a role in metabolic functions and other biological processes.
Scientists isolated a fragment of this protein hormone and identified its potential biological action, naming it the KPV peptide. KPV is composed of three amino acids: lysine, proline, and valine.
This peptide is the C-terminal fragment of the protein hormone a-MSH, which is believed to be the hormone's core amino acid sequence responsible for its properties.
In 1989, a study was published explaining how the tripeptide was isolated and its biological potential determined.
Having discovered that the terminal COOH peptide in the a-MSH hormone is the primary amino acid signaling sequence, the scientists conducted a preliminary study to determine whether KPV could prevent excessive vascular permeability and excessive blood vessel swelling. As part of the study, the scientists isolated the KPV peptide and administered it to test mice to determine its ability to reduce ear swelling. After completing the study, the scientists reported that the isolated fragment appeared to suppress swelling. KPV's potential anti-inflammatory effect may be due to the inactivation of inflammatory processes. It may also suppress the synthesis and release of proinflammatory cytokines in intestinal and immune cells.
1 capsule = 250 mg KPV Lysine-proline-valine (98%)
Effects:
- Anti-inflammatory effect
KPV reduces inflammation by suppressing proinflammatory cytokines such as interleukin-6 (IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor (TNF-α). This makes it useful for inflammatory conditions of the skin and body.
- Wound healing effect
The peptide accelerates wound healing and promotes tissue regeneration, improving the recovery of damaged skin and mucous membranes.
- Antimicrobial effect
KPV has antimicrobial properties, inhibiting the growth of bacteria such as *Staphylococcus aureus*, making it effective in the treatment of skin infections.
- Improved skin condition
Using KPV helps reduce redness, irritation, and symptoms associated with conditions such as acne, rosacea, and psoriasis. - Gut Health Support
Studies show that KPV may be beneficial for inflammatory bowel diseases (such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis) by reducing inflammation and strengthening the intestinal mucosa.
- Antioxidant Activity
The peptide reduces oxidative stress, protecting cells from damage caused by free radicals.
- Immunomodulatory Effect
KPV helps balance the body's immune response, which may be beneficial for autoimmune diseases or immune hyperactivity.
Take 1-4 capsules daily with water for 1-3 months.
Consult a sports medicine physician before use. Not recommended for use by individuals under 21 years of age or pregnant or lactating women.
