Probiotic BSR-2.1 is a gut microbiome corrector that supports metabolic and enzymatic functions. It promotes digestion and prevents insulin resistance and obesity. It may also help with autoimmune disorders and allergies.

BSR-2.1 is a combination probiotic based on psyllium containing Enterococcus faecium and Bifidobacterium animalis.

Enterococcus faecium is an indigenous strain of enterococci, devoid of pathogenic factors. It is part of the normal microflora of the gastrointestinal tract. It helps maintain immunity, digestion, sugar hydrolysis, and vitamin production. It promotes the formation of a balanced microbiome. It effectively suppresses many pathogenic and opportunistic microorganisms, such as staphylococci, listeria, clostridia, and E. coli. Moreover, this strain is indigenous, does not contain antibiotic resistance genes, and is suitable for the prevention and treatment of antibiotic-associated diarrhea. The main factor behind Enterococcus faecium's antagonistic activity is its ability to produce antimicrobial peptides called enterocins.

Bifidobacterium animalis is involved in the synthesis of essential amino acids and B vitamins. It strengthens the intestinal barrier and improves digestion. It produces antibiotic substances that inhibit the proliferation of putrefactive and pathogenic microbes. It also helps prevent insulin resistance and obesity.

The Enterococcus faecium and Bifidobacterium animalis strains included in BSR-2.1 possess immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory potential and may be effective for more than just gastrointestinal diseases. Several studies have shown that they help prevent or reduce the symptoms of allergic reactions and reduce the use of antihistamines and anti-inflammatory medications. Their mechanism of action is believed to be related to decreased IgE production and increased interferon-gamma levels. Enterococcus faecium and Bifidobacterium animalis play an important role in immune regulation and are helpful in autoimmune diabetes type 1. When combined with traditional insulin therapy, they improve carbohydrate metabolism parameters: fasting blood glucose and glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c).

The action of probiotics is enhanced by psyllium, which is a source of natural soluble fiber, food for normal flora, and an enterosorbent.

The probiotic BSR-2.1 is recommended for normalizing the composition of the intestinal microbiome and improving digestion. It may be useful for allergic rhinitis, atopic dermatitis, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and type 1 diabetes, especially in children.

Combination options for the BS probiotic line are provided in the article at the link.
