RTD-1 cream contains the RTD-1 peptide (or rhesus theta defensin-1) as an active component, which limits excessive reactivity of the immune system (for example, a cytokine storm after ARVI) in viral infections, some inflammatory and autoimmune processes.

Rhesus theta-defensin-1 was discovered in the leukocytes of rhesus macaques. These animals have many human diseases, including Alzheimer's disease, but a number of immunological disorders simply do not exist in them.

"Imbalances" in the functioning of individual parts of the immune system are an integral part of the pathogenesis of a number of chronic diseases.
