Hypnosis (DSIP) is a neuropeptide that, when acting on brain centers, has the ability to induce deep sleep.
Delta-hypnotic peptide, nasal spray. DSIP is a neuropeptide that stimulates spindle activity and the delta EEG and suppresses motor activity.
Considered an amphiphilic protein, DSIP is a peptide with hydrophilic and lipophilic properties. It can be found in the limbic system, hypothalamus, limbic system, interstitial fluid, and pancreas.
DSIP works in the brain through N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptors, which are responsible for learning and memory.
When glutamate and glycine bind together, this receptor is activated. When it functions optimally, it allows any charged ions to pass through the cell membrane. The NMDA receptor plays a crucial role in controlling memory function and synaptic plasticity.
The NMDA receptor has low molecular stability. Therefore, experts believe that DSIP creates compounds rich in carrier proteins. Research shows that these proteins inhibit degradation. It is regulated by glucocorticoids, which belong to the class of corticosteroids (a type of steroid hormone).
Simply put, glucocorticoids bind to the glucocorticoid receptor. They serve as a mechanism in the body's immune system that reduces inflammation in allergies and autoimmune diseases.
