Codonopsis helps with inflammatory processes in the lungs, dysbiosis in the lungs and bronchi, suppresses overactivated Th2 immunity, supports lung mitochondria. Immunological types of bronchial asthma can be divided into 2 types: Th2-dependent and Th2-independent. For the first group, codonopsis is useful, and for the second, it is often necessary.
In a meta-study on people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, for whom the effect is most pronounced, it was shown that codonopsis improves spirometry (forced expiratory volume in 1 second) and increases walking distances better than conventional pharmacotherapy.
