Composition: Cotton fabric; beeswax; foil; essential oils: cinnamon, eucalyptus, clove, lavender.
Step 1
Treatment with candles is recommended before bedtime, since for several hours after the procedure you cannot go outside, take a bath, or play sports.
Step 2
The person lies on his side or back, turning only his head to the side. At this time, everything is prepared for the procedure - 2 ear candles made of beeswax (it is important that the heating is carried out on both ears, even if the problem is localized on one side), a napkin to protect the head, a container with water and matches. Standard candles are suitable for an adult, but special ones with a smaller diameter are available for children.
Step 3
The head is covered with a towel, and a pad with a hole for a candle is placed on the ear.
Step 4
The candle is inserted into the ear, but not too deep. During the entire procedure, the product is kept at the same level.
Step 5
The end of the device is set on fire. Due to wax impregnation, the fabric will burn very slowly, allowing you to achieve the desired cleansing and warming effect. There should be no pain, only a feeling of pleasant warmth.
Step 6
There is a mark on the candle, when the fire reaches which you must stop the procedure - carefully remove the tube from the ear and extinguish it in water.
Step 7
The shell of the heated ear is treated with cotton swabs for the ears, and a cotton swab is inserted into the passage.
Step 8
Afterwards, all manipulations are repeated on the other side, and at the end of the procedure, after a quarter of an hour, the tampons are removed and the patient can get up.
It is important to observe general precautions when working with fire:
- prepare a container of water in advance to extinguish the candle;
- cover the patient's head with a towel during the procedure;
- it is better to insert the candle itself into a special protective circle that creates a barrier between the person’s head and the burning object;
- you cannot perform the procedure yourself or leave the patient unattended during the process.
To remove plugs, treatment is carried out once a day until ear congestion is eliminated; inflammatory processes require one procedure every 3 days in a course of two weeks, and hygienic cleaning can be done infrequently - a maximum of 2 times a month.
